ABOUT
Howdy! My name is Angelina Baltazar and I am a Biomedical Engineering Honors major with a minor in Neuroscience from College Station, TX. I am extremely passionate about researching stem-cell treatments for neurodegenerative disorders and currently work in Dr. Jennifer Dulin’s lab working on the use of stem cells for treating spinal cord injury. I also have an equal passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus through the Student Government Association. I have plans to earn a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and one day work for the National Institute of Health, where I can create effective therapies and be an advocate for biomedical research and inclusivity in academia.
In my time at Texas A&M, I have been involved in an array of activities. Some of my current involvement includes being an Engineering Honors Ambassador, Undergraduate Research Ambassador, a member of the Texas A&M Neuroscience organization, BRAINS, serving as a Student Senator, where I am the Academic Affairs Chair, and being part of the Student Success Operations Committee. Over the past year, I have received the Dean's Excellence Award for the College of Engineering and the Science Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program grant to help fund my independent research project. I am currently pursuing a summer research program at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, where I have been able to learn more about stem cell therapies for brain-related disorders. In my free time, I play the flute in the Texas A&M Symphonic Winds, bake desserts, and play with my cat.
